Foreclosure Assistance

The Community Housing Council of Fresno will assist those homebuyers that are having problems making their payments on their primary residence in the form of assisting them with getting the proper paperwork to the servicer and letting them know what options they may have available to them.

One of the first things that we do is have the homeowner attend an orientation class so that they have a better understanding of the processing and what it is that we will be doing for them as well as what they will need to do. After you have attended the orientation, you will be assigned to a counsel that will assist you. The counselor maybe a person that is on staff at the HRC or a Volunteer member that will be assisting you.

We are there to guide you in making sure that you are providing the right information to the servicer of the mortgage so that you can get the best possible outcome from them. Often one of the big factors is ensuring that the budget has been done correctly. In some cases, it will be apparent that the home is no longer affordable, at which time we will explain what options you have available to you.

We are not a organization that can provide you with financial assistance and there are no guarantees that all of the work that we do will be able to provide you with a smaller payment as this is up to the servicer. What we can do is assist you with getting the paperwork together and this is done with no charge to you.
